8 April 22 was a historic day for Sophia Girls School Meerut. It marked the inauguration of five synthetic basketball courts in the school.

The chief guest Shri Alok Sharma uploaded the school for its efforts towards development of sports not only in the school but also in the City. He congratulated the management staff and students for this extraordinary feat. Sir explained the importance of field games over virtual games. After 2 years of almost no physical activity the school  catered to the need of Sports for its students. The chief guest promised to remain in touch with the school and hoped that the school will produce National level basketball players on its court. He thanked  Principal Sister Gail for inviting him on such a remarkable day.
