Infrastructure

School Building

Sophia Girls’ School is one of the best-equipped schools in India with facilities that promote excellence in all areas. The infrastructure has been suitably planned to accommodate learning and all round development of the child. The school stands on an extensive campus in the picturesque land of Meerut, with separate building each for Kinder Garten, Primary & Secondary students

School Library

“Books are the quietest and the most constant of friends; and they are the most accessible and the wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.” Our Library is a fully automated learning centre with a wide range of resource such as Magazines, Newspapers, Reference Books, Fiction, Encyclopaedias, Inspirational Books, Course Books, Biographies, etc, for students and the staff. The aim is to provide a animated research area within the school. There are approximately 14,000 books available in the library. Students are taken to the reading room twice a week to have an access to this wide arena of knowledge.

Physics Lab

Physics Laboratory provides experience with phenomena. It is a place for the systematic development of students’ ideas, and a testing ground for the predictive power of their practical reasoning. Our laboratory helps the students develop a broad array of basic skills and tools of experimental physics and data analysis through various instruments like Optical Benches, Van De Graff generator, FM circuit, Light Box, Screw Gauge, Vernier Calipers, Spectrometer, etc. where students master the basic physics concepts. It also helps student to understand the role of direct observation in physics and to distinguish between inferences based on theory and the outcomes of experiments under the supervision of the teacher.

Chemistry Lab

Chemistry Laboratory provides effective tools and techniques to undertake chemical experiments. The experience of observing a chemical phenomenon and then explaining its behavior is one that simply cannot be gained by reading a textbook or by listening to a lecture. It is in the laboratory where chemistry comes alive. The objectives of a laboratory is to use apparatus to develop techniques, record and interpret data, and deduce rational theories so that the real world of science is better explained and understood. Under the strict and alert vigilance of teachers and assistant, the students perform various tests and analysis of salts and solutions. A separate measurement room ensures the accurate measurement of chemicals for volumetric analysis experiments. The chemistry laboratory is spacious enough for every student to perform experiments individually as each student is provided with separate set of apparatus. It is well ventilated for proper disposal of poisonous gases. The laboratory is fully equipped with chemicals and apparatus as per the ICSE& ISC syllabus and guidelines.
